First brewed in collaboration with Hubtown Brewery (Okotoks, AB) to celebrate International Women’s Day, 2020, this beer is a uniquely refreshing Belgian Blonde ale with raspberry and a custom Pink Boots blend of American hops. Underlying the fruit and bready malt flavours is a spicy Belgian yeast character, with moderate hop bitterness to balance out berry sweetness. Available on draft in 16-oz or 5-oz pour sizing. Also available in growler jug for take-home.

  • Prairie Dog Brewing's Jitter Bear Coffee Kolsch in a branded 16-oz US pint glass.

Jitter Bear Coffee Kölsch on Draft

    $7.50

Jitter Bear Coffee Kölsch is a fan-favourite of ours at Prairie Dog Brewing. It starts with our Little Bear Kölsch, which we then infuse with a premium Columbian dark-roast coffee from Rebel Bean (Okotoks, AB), which brings milk chocolate, toffee and caramel notes to the beer – no harsh coffee bitterness at all. Combined with the sweetness and honey notes from our Little Bear, this beer tastes like a Coffee Crisp bar in a glass. Available as a 16-oz or a 5-oz draft pour, or take it home in a growler

  • Prairie Dog Brewing's experimental Sunrise Prelude wild/sour saison in a branded 16-oz US pint glass.

  • Prairie Dog Brewing California Common red American lager in a branded 16-oz US pint glass.

    California Common on Draft

    $7.50

We brewed this lager/ale hybrid as an homage to our close attachment with California, where most of Prairie Dog’s founders lived immediately prior to launching our business. This style resembles American Amber (Red) Ale, but it uses a unique strain of lager yeast, which was primarily used in “Steam Beers” during the early 20th century in San Francisco before dying out and being resurrected by Anchor Brewing (San Francisco) during the late 70’s. Our version is amber with a foamy head with a firm, old-school West-coast bittering/flavour hop to balance out the toasty, malty base and roasty undertones. Available on draft in a 16-oz or a 5-oz pour, or take it home in a growler jug or can!

  • A 64-oz growler jug of Prairie Dog Brewing's delicious Gunnison's Red Ale.

    Gunnison’s Red on Draft

    $7.50

Named after the boisterous Gunnison’s Prairie Dog of the four-corners region, our red ale takes cues from the classic Irish Red style, employing a hint of roasted barley for colour and taste atop a base of sweeter caramel malts with a deliberate underlying bitterness that keeps the beer palatable and adds a pleasant aftertaste, but includes a late dose of Chinook hops for a spicier, American-style finish. Our house yeast keeps the beer fairly dry with a malty backbone, making it easy to have another. Available on draft in 16-oz or 5-oz pour sizes, or take it home in a growler jug!

  • Prairie Dog Brewing's popular Tail-Twitcher IPA craft beer in a branded 16-oz US pint glass.

    Tail Twitcher IPA on Draft

    $7.50

Clear, amber and dry, this modern example of an American-style IPA bursts with tangerine, lemon and a resinous grapefruit character overlaid upon a tasty base of Alberta malts. Amarillo, Lemondrop and Mosaic hops are generously added late in the boil and throughout several massive dry-hop steps. In spite of the intense hop character, bitterness is balanced to allow the underlying malt flavour to shine through. Available in both 16-oz and 5-oz pour size on draft, or take it home in a growler or cans.

  • Prairie Dog Brewing Alby the Elder Double IPA (DIPA) in our 16-oz US pint glass.

Alby the Elder DIPA on Draft

    $8.50

Alby the Elder is an aggressively-hopped west-coast-style double IPA with some throwbacks toward our favourite doubles of Northern California. Clocking in at just over 100 IBU (lab-tested), this beer has a high level of bitterness, but we made up a lot of those IBUs with whirlpool hops, and gave it a massive double dry hop, so the beer has tons of hop aroma and flavour (we could smell it from across our large building when a brewer was sloshing it for gravity samples). Not just hop, there’s still a tasty malt base to balance things out. The elevated alcohol, high bitterness and fairly dry body serve to make Elby the Elder beer best suited to the hop heads among us. Available in 16-oz or 5-oz draft pours, or take it home in a growler jug!

  • Prairie Dog Brewing Desperate Times Baltic Porter in a 16-oz branded glass.

Desperate Times Baltic Porter on Draft

    $8.50

Dark and chocolatey, Desperate Times  is our unique take on a Baltic Porter, a popular style in the Baltic region from bygone times. This beer features a malt/hop recipe similar to an American Imperial Porter, but is brewed with San Francisco Lager yeast, and lagered cold for several months, which gives it a sweeter, maltier and more bread flavour profile than an ale. Full-bodied with a balanced bitterness, this beer is surprisingly deceptive for its alcohol level.

Available in 16-oz or 5-oz draft pours, or pick up a 650-mL bottle to take home!

  • Prairie Dog Brewing's Midnight Combine barrel-aged Belgian-style dark strong ale in a branded 16-oz US pint glass.

    Midnight Combine on Draft

    $12.00

Midnight Combine is a Belgian-style strong, dark beer aged in oak red wine barrels and co-fermented with wild microorganisms to produce a blend of sweet vanilla and dark fruit flavours along with a mild acidity like red wine and a complex blend of spicy phenols that will evolve as the beer ages. Available on draft in 16-oz and 5-oz pour sizes, or take it home in a bottle or growler jug!

  • Prairie Dog Brewing's Uncle Eddie's Stubborn (Oatmeal) Stout in a branded 16-oz US pint glass.SOLD OUT

Uncle Eddie’s Stubborn (Oatmeal) Stout on Draft

    $7.50

Silver-medal winner at the 2018 Canadian International Beer Awards for Best Friday Cask.

A rich, dark stout with a thick, creamy head and full mouthfeel, having notes of coffee, caramel, and dark chocolate with background smoke character from our in-house-smoked flaked oats. Available on draft in 16-oz or 5-oz pours, or take it home in cans or growler jugs!

  • Prairie Dog Brewing Kettle Sour Gone Wild craft beer in a branded 16-oz US pint glass.SOLD OUT

Kettle Sour Gone Wild! on Draft

    $8.00

Tart, fruity and complex with wood and subtle funky wild fermentation flavours.

Many of our owners and staff think that our Kettle Sour Gone Wild is our very best beer. It starts out as our regular kettle sour, made in the style of a German Berliner Weisse, but we transfer a portion of that beer to French oak barrels, where we inoculate it with brettanomyces yeast, a form of “wild” yeast that adds complex, spicy phenols and fruity flavours to this highly spirited and white-wine-like beer, which still clocks in at under 3.5% ABV. After 2-3 months in the barrel, we chill, carbonate and package this beer in kegs. Because this limited-quantity beer takes so long to make and gains so much complexity and subtlety throughout the process, we charge a small premium over regular price. Available in 16-oz or 5-oz pours on draft, or take it home in a growler jug!

  • Prairie Dog Brewing Kettle Sour Gone Wild! with Saskatoon Berries in a 16-oz branded glass.SOLD OUT

    Saskatoon KSGW on Draft

    $8.00

Tart, fruity and complex with wood and subtle funky wild fermentation flavours.

Our Kettle Sour Gone Wild! beer aged in oak wine barrels and co-fermented with Saskatoon berries. Pictured beer is the regular KSGW, the fruited beer has a pink, hazy tone from the raspberries and their pectin.

  • Prairie Dog Brewing's Little Bear Kölsch in a 16oz glass, 473mL cans and 64oz growlerSOLD OUT

    Little Bear Kölsch on Draft

    $7.50

Flavourful but easy drinking, our Kölsch-style ale is clean and crisp with a slightly sweet grainy flavour and a dry finish. Based on the German pilsner style, but fermented with ale yeast and lagered for several weeks, this beer has a pleasant, soft and surprisingly refreshing flavour profile that makes it stand tall beside its lager brethren.

We are also proud to announce that this is our first beer brewed with Canadian yeast from Escarpment Laboratories, out of Guelph, Ontario.
